Workshop on importance of life skills held

LUDHIANA: A three-day workshop on “Importance of life skills for personality development of students” was organised at the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) by the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, College of Veterinary Science, for students of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (first year).



Ludhiana: A three-day workshop on “Importance of life skills for personality development of students” was organised at the Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU) by the Department of Veterinary Physiology and Biochemistry, College of Veterinary Science, for students of Bachelor of Veterinary Science and Animal Husbandry (first year). Dr Shashi Nayyar, HoD, informed that the workshop aimed at helping the students to deal with the challenges in personal and professional life more efficiently and effectively.

Budding surgeons conferred Young Scientist Awards

Postgraduate students of the Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology, College of Veterinary Science, Guru Angad Dev Veterinary and Animal Sciences University (GADVASU), Ludhiana, were conferred with Young Scientist Awards for their research work in the field of orthopaedic surgery and dentistry at the annual conference of the National Veterinary Foundation VETopia-2018 at Gurugram (Haryana). The conference was attended by over 300 delegates from all over India and abroad. Dr Priyanka Duggal, MVSc scholar, was conferred with the Young Scientist Award for her research paper on the management of tibia fractures in dogs. The research work was supervised by Dr Tarunbir Singh, assistant scientist, and highlighted the suitability of four advanced techniques for management of tibia fractures in dogs. Dr Mahesha C, MVSc scholar, got the Young Scientist Award for his research paper on diagnostic techniques for dental affections under the supervision of Dr Arun Anand, Associate Professor, Department of Veterinary Surgery and Radiology.

KVK organises first scientific advisory committe

Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK), Handiaya, organised its first scientific advisory committee (SAC) meeting at the Krishi Vigyan Kender (KVK) office. The SAC meeting was chaired by Dr Harish Kumar Verma, director of Extension Education, GADVASU, Ludhiana. In his introductory address, Dr Verma spoke about KVK activities and attainments which is operational under GADVASU, Ludhiana. — TNS
