Cutting across party lines, state Congress president Sunil Jakhar and Local Bodies Minister Navjot Singh Sidhu showered praise on AAP national convener Arvind Kejriwal during a function here today.

Jakhar called AAP a party which stood for change, while Sidhu said those who were not ashamed of dividing people should learn a lesson in amalgamation from the likes of Kejriwal.

Targeting the Shiromani Akali Dal, Sidhu said the state had been looted by leaders who had polarised people in the name of religion and earned the Panth’s ire.

The ruling party leaders were speaking at a Shaheed Parivar Fund event organised in memory of terror victims. Kejriwal praised the organisers for bringing various parties together on one platform against terrorism.

Others present included Congress national spokesperson Randeep Surjewala, Education Minister OP Soni, Forest Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, Congress MLA Sunder Sham Arora and state DGP Suresh Arora.
