Fight between couple leaves husband injured

CHANDIGARH:A fight between a couple over the husband’s alcohol addiction left the latter injured at their house in Khuda Ali Sher on the intervening night of September 16 and 17.

A fight between a couple over the husband’s alcohol addiction left the latter injured at their house in Khuda Ali Sher on the intervening night of September 16 and 17. The man received an injury on his neck with a blade while trying to stop his wife from slitting her veins. 

The police received information about an attack on a man at his house in Khuda Ali Sher after which a PCR team rushed to the spot. The police found the victim, Om Parkash, at the spot who had an injuiry mark on his neck. 

Investigation revealed that Om Parkash had an argument with his wife Sangeeta during night. 

The police said the woman took out a blade and threatened to cut the veins of her wrist. While trying to stop her, the husband got injured with the same blade. “He suffered an injury on his neck, leading to bleeding,” said a police official. 

The victim’s three children were also witness to the entire incident.

The injured was rushed to Government Multi-Specialty Hospital (GMSH), Sector 16, from where he was referred to the PGI by doctors. 

The police said the victim had given a statement that he got accidentally injured while stopping his wife. 

The police have registered a daily diary report (DDR) at the Sector 11 police station.
