Vigilance official booked under anti-graft Act

AMBALA:An official working in the Vigilance Division has been booked on the complaint of the Executive Engineer, Vigilance Division, Irrigation Water Resources Department, Ambala, under Section 13 (1) (e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Baldev Nagar police station on Friday.

An official working in the Vigilance Division has been booked on the complaint of the Executive Engineer, Vigilance Division, Irrigation Water Resources Department, Ambala, under Section 13 (1) (e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act at the Baldev Nagar police station on Friday.

The case has been registered on the recommendation of the Haryana Lokayukta against Surinder Kumar Bansal (now working in the Vigilance Division, Ambala).

In his complaint, Gurvinder Singh, Executive Engineer, Vigilance Division, stated that in year 2015, Rajiv Kumar, a resident of Jandli village, had made a complaint to the Lokayukta against Bansal. The Haryana Lokayukta has recommended registration of a case against Surinder Kumar Bansal under Section 13(1) (e) of the Prevention of Corruption Act 1988 and has directed to depute a senior police officer to investigate the matter.

According to information, there was some monetary dispute between Rajeev and the official following which the complaint was made.
