The Gurugram police arrested a 29-year-old man for allegedly repeatedly raping a 53-year-old Taiwanese woman on the pretext of marriage.
According to the police, the woman has been staying in Gurugram from 2017 and works with an NGO while the accused, Ravindra Vishwakarma, works at a private clinic. They had met around six months ago.
According to the complaint filed by the woman, she was staying at a PG in Sector 52 here while Vishwakarma was her neighbour.
“I met Vishwakarma in February. Later, he developed physical relations with me on the promise that he would marry me. But then he went back on his promise and blocked my number. I want strict action against him,” reads the complaint by her.
A case has been registered under Section 376 of the IPC at Sector-53 police station here.
“The accused has been arrested and has confessed to the crime. He is being produced in a city court,” said ASI Chander Kanta, the investigating officer.
