New Delhi, February 29
Late BJP stalwart Sushma Swaraj’s daughter Bansuri Swaraj’s name is among the probables for the New Delhi Lok Sabha segment currently represented by Union Minister Meenakashi Lekhi. Bansuri was appointed Delhi BJP secretary in 2023.
Sitting BJP MPs from 7 Delhi seats
- Ramesh Bidhuri won from South Delhi in 2014 and 2019 LS polls
- Gautam Gambhir became first time MP from East Delhi in 2019
- Hans Raj Hans won Northwest Delhi SC seat for the first time in 2019
- Meenakashi Lekhi represented New Delhi seat in 2014 and 2019
- Parvesh Verma, two-time MP from West Delhi (2014, 2019)
- Manoj Tiwari, two-time MP from Northeast Delhi in 2014, 2019
- Two-time MP (2014, 2019) Harsh Vardhan from Chandni Chowk
All seven LS seats in New Delhi are currently with the BJP. Some sitting MPs are likely to be dropped for fresh faces in the General Election.
Singer-actor Manoj Tiwari could be repeated from his seat Northeast Delhi. From the New Delhi segment, apart from Swaraj, former state unit chief Satish Upadhyay and Anil Sharma are also among the probables.
For Northwest Delhi that Hans Raj Hans holds, BJP general secretary Dushyant Gautam and leader Yogender Chandolia are on the panel. West Delhi panel features sitting MP Parvesh Sahib Verma and probables Kuljit Chahal and Kamaljeet Sherawat.
BJP Delhi chief Virendra Sachdeva and state general secretary Harsh Malhotra are among probables from East Delhi where Gautam Gambhir is the sitting MP.
For Chandni Chowk, which former health minister Harsh Vardhan holds, names of Vishnu Mittal, Praveen Khandelwal and Rekha Gupta are among probables.
In South Delhi, where Ramesh Bidhuri is the sitting MP, Leader of Opposition in Delhi Assembly Ramvir Bidhuri is also on the panel though Ramesh Bidhuri may be repeated.
