The police have booked a former teacher of a government-aided private school at Saraswati Nagar in the district for allegedly getting the job of Punjabi teacher on the basis of fake educational certificate.
On the complaint of Devender Singh, president, managing committee, Janta High School, Saraswati Nagar, a case was registered against Raj Rani under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC at Chhappar police station on Saturday.
The complainant said that Raj Rani had joined the school as Punjabi teacher on regular post on April 1, 1990. He said that the Haryana Government had started the process of taking over regular staff of the government-aided private schools in November 2013.
He said that the school ordered the regular teaching and non-teaching staff to submit their original educational certificates with the management.
The complainant said that Raj Rani deposited a photocopy of the certificate of Occupational Therapy (OT) Punjabi, instead of depositing the original certificate. “She was asked to deposit the original certificate several times, but she failed to do so,” he said. He said that she applied for voluntary retirement from the service on January 1, 2017. “The photocopy of her certificate was verified by the office of the Director General, Secondary Education, Haryana, and it was found to be fake,” said Devender Singh.
