Hisar, January 24

CM Manohar Lal Khattar today inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of 153 projects worth Rs 2,024 crore at a state-level function through videoconferencing at the Lala Lajpat Rai Veterinary and Animal Sciences University here.

The CM inaugurated 76 projects worth Rs 686 crore and laid the foundation stones of 77 projects, the combined cost of which is Rs 1,338 crore. He also inaugurated the administrative building and an embryo transplant lab for improvement of animal breed at the university.

The CM said the government had been continuously strengthening the infrastructure in the state, contributing to the overall economy.

He added that in addition to physical development, the government had significantly emphasised on cultural and social development.

He highlighted the historic significance of January 22 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi presided over the consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Khattar said the widespread joy and happiness permeated the entire nation on that momentous day.

Taking a dig at statements being made by Opposition leaders regarding unemployment, Khattar dismissed their claims, stating that the figures ranging from 9 per cent to 35 per cent are being cited inaccurately. He clarified that the actual self-declared unemployment rate on family identity cards was about 8.5 per cent, discrediting the Opposition’s assertions of up to 34 per cent as mere political propaganda.

Highlighting the state’s progress in terms of ease of doing business, he said the government had successfully provided employment opportunities to 30 lakh people.

He said the government’s systemic changes had helped combat corruption, particularly in recruitment and transfer processes, which led to increased transparency. Claiming equal development, he said besides improvement of 33,000 km of existing roads, approximately 7,000 km of new roads were constructed.

The CM highlighted infrastructure projects underway in the state, including the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor spanned 72 km and the Western Dedicated Freight Corridor spread over 506 km.

Yamunanagar projects

Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar on Wednesday inaugurated and laid the foundation stones of several projects in Yamunanagar district through videoconferencing from Hisar.

Haryana Education Minister Kanwar Pal Gujjar said these projects were worth of Rs 15.42 crore. In a programme at the mini secretariat here, Gujjar said the CM laid the foundation stones of development works worth Rs 5.34 crore and inaugurated projects worth about Rs 10.08 crore.

Upkeep of Meham ponds

Rohtak: The CM visited Meham in the district on the way from Rohtak to Hisar and inspected the pond near the office of the local municipal committee. He directed the official concerned to ensure that wastewater was not released into the pond. He said a master plan would be prepared to carry out cleaning, maintenance and beautification of the pond.
