Chandigarh, August 3
MLA Kuldeep Bishnoi submitted his resignation from the Adampur Assembly constituency to Haryana Legislative Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta today.
“His resignation has been accepted after taking legal opinion. It has been notified too,” said the Speaker. In the communication submitted to the Speaker, Bishnoi didn’t give any reason for resigning.
He is leaving the Congress and will join the BJP tomorrow. Talking to mediapersons, he said he wanted his son Bhavya to contest the bypoll, but the last decision would be of the BJP.
He praised the working style of both PM Narendra Modi and CM Manohar Lal Khattar. In reply to a question, he said Khattar would be present during his joining the BJP, but didn’t know who else would be there on the occasion. He said he had a list of seven former MLAs, and whenever the CM would want, he would make them join the BJP.
He said, “The Congress has forgotten the ideology of Indira Gandhi.” He said former CM Bhupinder Singh Hooda had challenged him to resign, which he did today. “I challenge Hooda to contest against me or my son from Adampur,” he said.
