Normal life has been crippled in Mandi, Kullu and Lahaul and Spiti districts due to disruption in transportation services and power supply after heavy snowfall in these districts. In Mandi, 46 roads were blocked and out of which 18 roads were restored today. As many as 28 roads are still blocked in the Seraj and Thalout divisions of the district. As a result, the residents of these areas are suffering from lack of transportation service.

As many as 247 electricity transformers were disrupted in different parts of Kullu district of which 124 were restored today. Several parts of Manali, Kullu and Thalout are reeling under darkness for the last three days.

In Kullu district, 74 roads were blocked to traffic of which only six were restored today. As many as 68 roads are still blocked in Banjar, Kullu, Manali and Nirmand divisions.

The Border Roads Organisation has restored the Manali-Leh highway between Manali and Keylong for the movement of 4x4 vehicles. The district administration of Lahaul and Spiti and Kullu has allowed movement of emergency vehicles on this road between Manali and Keylong via the Atal Tunnel.

Lahaul and Spiti SP Mayank Chaudhary said the BRO had restored Keylong-Dacha, Keylong-Udaipur and Keylong-Manali roads for the movement of 4x4 vehicles.

Manali SDM Raman Sharma said that the movement of tourist vehicles was allowed up to the Nehru Kund beyond Manali.
