Mandi, January 20

Leader of the Opposition Jai Ram Thakur today said due to poor governance, a people’s movement was gaining pace against the state government within 13 months of the Congress rule.

“During the Assembly elections, the Congress had promised to provide one lakh jobs to the youth in the state. But after coming to power, it has provided no jobs so far. Only the close aides of Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu have got jobs, who were accommodated as per the rank of the Cabinet minister. The Congress government has sacked over 10,000 outsourced employees and did not pay them salary for the past 10 months,” he added.

Thakur alleged that to give backdoor entry to their people, the government took the decision to recruit guest faculty teachers in the state. The BJP and the unemployed youth of the state had protested against it and finally the CM reversed his decision today. Similarly, the government has decided to recruit 2,061 Van Mitar in the state, which was also an attempt to give backdoor entry to the unemployed youth of a particular party, he said.

Thakur said genuine flood-affected people had not received relief yet, while people affiliated with a particular party got relief amounts in their bank account for little loss. It would be the biggest scam in Himachal. “Electricity board Employees are protesting to get their salary on time. The financial condition of the state is deteriorating and Sukhu is taking loans constantly,” he added.
