A balanced move

That lover boy image, a dancing star, those cute dimples and that down to earth attitude make Shantanu Maheshwari a kill with the young. Having won The World Of Dance Championship beating the best from the countries around the world at Los Angeles and bringing home the trophy, life’s just not the same for this Desi Hoppers dancer.

Bindass Naach is getting wrapped up, but Shantanu is on the move. Dance, acting and anchoring are on the anvil and then there are team practices to keep in the super form that won them the world title!

The ‘I love your soch, but like my approach’ guy in the HP ad admits that post win, life’s been on an upswing. “It’s difficult to put into words but roughly, it’s like my horizon has broadened overnight.”

The very visible change, however, is that he is far more disciplined with regards to his dance. “Discipline is one thing that I have learnt from my stint in the West that I would like to retain forever. They are like super organised, super dedicated that we too picked up in the time that we spent there.”

And, yes, there are offers, national and international, for dance shows, telly appearances and of course acting, Shantanu is taking it slow and steady.

“Dance remains my priority but that doesn’t mean that I enjoy acting any less,” says this lead from Channel V’s Dil Dosti Dance, who finds satisfaction in entertaining the crowds. Hailed to be the new youth icon, Shantanu who likes to say that he is ‘single’, finds his driving force in his family. “My parents, my brother are the ones who inspire me to reach for the sky and keep me grounded too.”

Balance is something, this dancer values above everything else. He considers himself a party animal and a loner in equal measure. “I am not the one for extremes. Life should be lived in all its glory but at the same time you must draw the line somewhere, this is what I have learnt from my parents.”

You will see more of him in times to come, meanwhile his message to his fans, “Push the envelope and stick to your roots, that’s a good combo for success.” See, we told you he is man of balance!
