Ludhiana, January 16
Local Congress leader Parminder Mehta has raised a question over the ticket allotment to Surinder Dawar from the Ludhiana Central constituency.
Addressing a press conference here today, Mehta said he had requested the party high command to again reconsider its decision of giving the party ticket to Dawar.
“I have already submitted in writing about his poor working during the past five years. It is shocking that neither the party marked any inquiry against him nor requests of other party men for the ticket from the constituency were considered,” he said.
In the list of the 86 names announced by the Congress, there are many leaders who have serious allegations against them.
Mehta alleged that Dawar had been indulging in corruption and had brought a bad name to the image of the party.
“If the party is giving the ticket to candidates with the fear that they will join another party, it should keep in mind that they can change the party even after winning the poll,” he said.
