Ludhiana: The police have registered a case under Sections 302 and 201 of the IPC in connection with death of a 16-year-old girl whose body was found abandoned on September 15 from a vacant plot near Best Price on Chandigarh Road here. The police said although after the body was recovered, proceedings under Section 174 (natural death) of the IPC were carried out, but the post-mortem report of the deceased girl reported ‘death due to asphyxia due to throttling and sufficient to cause death in ordinary course of nature’. According to the police, the doctors also reported that after the murder of the girl, an attempt was made to burn the body with some inflammable substance to hide the identity of the dead girl.
