Residents of Rajguru Nagar, especially senior citizens, organised ‘greh pravesh’ of the under-construction senior citizen home, being constructed by the Rajguru Nagar Senior Citizens Welfare Association on 500 sq yard land provided by the LIT.

Residents also felicitated AAP legislators Gurpreet Gogi (Ludhiana West) and Ashok Parashar Pappi (Ludhiana Central), who were the guests of honour at the function.

President of the association KS Chawla expressed gratitude to the residents of the colony for their liberal donations, which had turned the dream of a senior citizen home in the colony into a reality. Congratulating the AAP legislators on their party’s resounding victory in the Assembly elections, he urged them to pay special attention to curb rising crime graph and bring about improvement in law and order situation in the industrial hub.

Both Gogi and Pappi assured the area residents that the issue of law and order situation in the city would be taken up at the appropriate level and all possible steps would be taken to restore the sense of security and confidence among the city residents.

Malkiat Singh Rai, general secretary of the association, dwelt upon the formation of the Rajguru Nagar Senior Citizens Welfare Association and background of the initiative for construction of senior citizen home in the colony. He made a fervent appeal to Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann through AAP legislators to provide financial assistance for the ongoing project so that it could be completed expeditiously and without any hindrance.
