Unidentified car-borne assailants opened fire at a lawyer, Sukhneet Singh Bhatia, in Phase 1, Dugri, this evening. They had fired three shots at the lawyer of which two hit the victim. He was rushed to the DMCH and was said to be out of danger.

The miscreants fled in a white car (bearing Haryana registration number) after the incident.

As per information, the lawyer was going with his son for some work in his car. Later, the miscreants came in a car and opened fire at his car. Two bullets hit the lawyer, one near his ear and the other his stomach. After the incident, the victim himself reached the Dugri police station in the injured condition where police officials gave him first aid and took him to the DMCH.

ADCP Dev Singh said as per the victim, he had some dispute with his in-laws and the attack could have been orchestrated by them but the police would probe the incident to nab the assailants and action would be taken in the matter.
