Days after the National Medical Commission (NMC) asked all medical colleges to install CCTV cameras; it has conveyed the colleges to implement Aadhaar Enabled Biometric Attendance System (AEBAS) and Hospital Management System (HMS) in all medical colleges within a month.
The NMC has asked the colleges to share live CCTV videos with the Command and Control Centre of the Commission.
The NMC has asked all medical colleges to appoint a nodal officer to implement this project immediately.
Implementation of AEBAS, developed by the National Informatics Center (NIC), in all government and private medical colleges, is to be used as an effective and convenient digital solution to record the attendance of faculties, senior residents and tutors of medical colleges.
In a letter sent to all the medical colleges, government and private, the NMC secretary wrote that the HMS in all medical colleges is for the monitoring of patient load and other parameters at hospitals with medical colleges.
E-hospital software has been developed by the NIC which is already running in many hospitals including major government hospitals such as AIIMS Delhi, Safdarjung Hospital, RML Hospital in New Delhi.
Registration module will facilitate registration of patients at the hospital counter and self-registration by patients through mobile OTP, Aadhaar, ABHA ID, wrote the secretary.
