Biased policy on restrictions hurting: SAD

Prem Singh Chandumajra

Mohali, May 6

The SAD today said the Punjab government’s lockdown policy appeared to be biased as it was directly hurting traders and shopkeepers.

SAD senior vice-president Prem Singh Chandumajra said with the co-operation of the state government, the district administration had forcibly closed down the shops of essential goods and politicised the lockdown by permitting liquor contractors to open their vends.

He said Health Minister Balbir Singh Sidhu had made statements in favour of liquor contractors for allowing them to open their vends and appeared more concerned about them than smalltime shopkeepers. — TNS
