Muktsar: Primary school head thrashed, probe marked

Muktsar, February 18

The district education authorities have marked a probe to the block primary education officer (BPEO) after a video of three people, including a woman, allegedly thrashing a head teacher of the Government Primary School, Dashmesh Nagar, went viral on the social media.

The victim, Chaman Lal, claimed that a man entered the school on Saturday and started thrashing him. “Our schoolteacher Kiranjit Kaur also reached there along with her son Uday. The trio, including Kiranjit’s brother Nirmal Singh, thrashed me. Some nearby residents rescued me. I am the head of the school and had conveyed the government’s instructions to the staff, but the teacher was upset with me,” said Chaman Lal.

Daulat Ram, District Education Officer (Primary), Muktsar, said, “I have seen the video and ordered a probe. The injured teacher has been admitted to Civil Hospital.” The teacher has been suspended.
