Punjab Agriculture Minister Randeep Singh Nabha gave cheques as compensation to the families of the four farmers and one journalist who were killed in Lakhimpur Kheri, in Lucknow on Friday.

On behalf of the Punjab government, the minister gave cheques for Rs 50 lakh each to the five families.

Eight people, including four farmers, had been killed in the Lakhimpur Kheri violence recently.
