Rohtak, April 9
To check the spread of Covid-19, several schools here have decided to halve the number of students for offline classes.
In fact, the managements of Rohtak schools have come up with Covid-appropriate mechanism to tackle the situation. The move comes after several students, teachers and other staff members at various schools in the district tested Covid-positive recently.
“Covid-testing camps were organised on the premises of our school yesterday as well as today. The district health authorities sent their teams for the camps at which samples of students and staff members were taken. We have decided that only 50 per cent students will be called to attend the offline classes,” said Dr Aruna Taneja, Principal, Model School, Rohtak.
Students of Scholars Rosary Senior Secondary School have also been attending their offline classes on alternate days as per their roll numbers.
“If a class has 40 students, students having roll numbers 1 to 20 are called on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, while those having roll numbers 21 to 40 attend their classes on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays,” said a teacher.
Covid protocol is being observed at the state-run schools as well. Sudesh Kumari, headmistress of Government Middle School, Sectors 2, Rohtak, said a Covid-testing camp was organised on the school premises recently but no student or staff member was found infected.
