Enthused by record-breaking enrolment of new students in government schools across the state in this session, the Department of School Education has decided to felicitate school heads and teachers who played a vital role in making their village/ward ‘zero dropout’.
The department has directed its District Education Officers (DEOs) to organise a special felicitation function on the occasion of Teachers’ Day.
“The total number of enrolment in government schools across the state has crossed 25 lakh and over 4.40 lakh new students have taken admissions in government schools in the past two years. Some schools, with the help of gram panchayats and school management committee, have played a significant role in making their village ‘zero dropout’, hence, we have decided to honour the heads and teachers of such schools on Teachers’ Day,” said a higher officer of the department.
All Block Education Officers in the district have also been asked to identify ‘zero dropout’ schools and where enrolment has increased.
