Rashmi Ahluwalia, principal of Montessori Cambridge School , Pathankot, was felicitated with the prestigious national award, presented to her by Vice-President Venkaiah Naidu, at Vigyan Bhavan, Delhi, recently. The ceremony took place in the presence of Minister of Human Resource Development Prakash Javadekar.
Ahluwalia is recognised as an inspiring educationist. She has always taken up challenges in education with selfless dedication and worked with a missionary zeal to bring reforms in the field. She is known to have maintained a conducive and congenial environment for teaching and learning.
President Ram Nath Kovind later interacted with the 219 awardees, whom he had invited for a lunch at the Rashtrapati Bhawan.
Congratulating the teachers on the occasion, Naidu called them “unsung heroes”.
