Ophthalmological Society of Punjab gets its first female chief

AMRITSAR: Dr Inderjit Kaur (Renu) was unanimously elected as the first female president of the Ophthalmological Society of Punjab (OSP) during its annual conference recently.

Dr Inderjit Kaur (Renu) was unanimously elected as the first female president of the Ophthalmological Society of Punjab (OSP) during its annual conference recently.

The conference on ‘recent trends in ophthalmology’ concluded in Faridkot yesterday. Over 200 delegates from all over the region attended the conference.

Dr Inderjit Kaur is presently working as a professor at Sri Guru Ram Das Medical College here. Earlier, she had worked at Government Medical College here. With more than 30 national and international publications in her name, Dr Inderjit’s husband Dr Jagdeepak Singh is also a noted philanthropist.

Dr Jagdeepak, head of the ENT at Government Medical College, is the vice-president of the Pingalwara Charitable Society founded by Bhagat Pooran Singh.
