State BJP president and Rajya Sabha member Shwait Malik on Thursday honoured new appointees to the executive posts in local units during an event at Khanna Samarak here.
He said, “Grassroot workers are backbone of the party. In BJP a common worker can even become a Prime Minister but in Congress the post is reserved for a single family.”
Malik said workers with contributions to party and a service of long standing had been honoured with executive posts.
He added that two call centres — one each in Amritsar and Chandigarh — have been opened to keep in touch with the party cadres.
