Two booked for defrauding bank

AMRITSAR: The Division B police have booked two persons for allegedly cheating a bank after taking a vehicle loan on forged documents.

The Division B police have booked two persons for allegedly cheating a bank after taking a vehicle loan on forged documents. They later sold the vehicle to someone else. Those booked were identified as Inderjit Singh Mann, son of Bachan Singh, a resident of Kapoor Nagar on the Sultanwind road, and Bakhshish Singh alias Bisha, son of Amar Singh of Pahuwind in Tarn Taran. Senior Branch Manager Vijaya Bank, Guru Nanak Dev University, stated to the police that the duo got a car loan of Rs 8 lakh after producing some documents which were later found to be forged. The incident came to light when they did not pay the installments. A probe pointed out that the accused sold the BMW Skoda car to someone else.

A case under Sections 419, 420, 465, 467, 468, 471 and 120-B of the IPC has been registered against the two suspects, said the investigating officer, Avtar Singh.
