To mobilise the support of residents from Barnala district for the party’s rally in Lambi on October 7, Cabinet Minister Sadhu Singh Dharamsot, along with Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) vice-president Kewal Dhillon, a presided over a meeting of workers here on Saturday.

“The Congress rally would show SAD leaders their exact position in Punjab today. Since the formation of the Congress government in the state, the party has been winning all elections under the guidance of Chief Minister Capt Amrinder Singh. The rally would prove to be a new milestone in Punjab politics,” said Dhillon.

He further added that the government had done a lot of work such as debt waiver, control over drugs, actions against gangsters and corruption. The PPCC vice-president said the SAD leaders did not have anything to mobilise residents for their rally, which would fail miserably as residents had rejected the SAD repeatedly in the state.

“Our workers and residents have already started working for the rally and it would be a massive one,” claimed Dhillon.

Cabinet Minister Dharmsot said all residents knew the sincere efforts made by the government for the development of the state. He said, “Frustrated SAD leaders are trying to rake up controversies without any reason. Though the rally is around a week away, our party workers and residents have started making preparations for it. Since SAD leaders do not have any issue against our government, they are leveling baseless allegations,” added Dharmsot.

The minister also assigned duties to party leaders to make arrangements for the transportation of party workers to rally venue.
