2 mock drills in run-up to I-Day

CHANDIGARH: In view of the Independence Day celebrations and to check the alertness of various units of the police force, the Chandigarh Police conducted two mock drills today.

In view of the Independence Day celebrations and to check the alertness of various units of the police force, the Chandigarh Police conducted two mock drills today.

While one mock drill was held at the Old District Courts, Sector 17, another was held at Gate No 8, Parade Ground in Sector 17 here.

The police and the CRPF cordoned off the Old District Court building after receiving the information regarding three suspected persons with weapons.

The police swung into action and nabbed the suspects.

Another information was received regarding a suspected bag, which can be bomb, near Gate No. 8, Parade Ground, Sector 17. The police swung into action and vacated the area immediately. The suspected bag was taken away by members of the bomb detection team.
