Chandigarh: An ‘akhand path sahib’ was organised at Guru Nanak Public School, Sector 36-D, Chandigarh. ‘Shabad Kirtan’ by students rendered atmosphere full of religious fervour. It was followed by a langar. To instill the spirit of ‘seva’ (serving humanity) in children, langar for more than 5,000 people was prepared by the staff and students.

Mount Carmel 

Chandigarh: Celebrations of the 31st founders’ week of Mount Carmel School, Sector 47-B, Chandigarh, began at Tagore Theatre, Chandigarh. Students from Classes Nursery to II presented a cultural programme in the morning function and students of Classes VI and VII presented the programme in the evening. Students presented a colourful programme. Davesh Moudgil, Mayor, Chandigarh, was the chief guest on the evening function.

Mount Carmel, Mohali

Mohali: Mount Carmel School, Mohali, celebrated its 31st founders’ week with zest and enthusiasm. In the cultural show, little students displayed their talents through skits, action songs and scintillating dance performances. The cultural show included a puppet dance, Haryanvi dance and English and Hindi plays. The annual report highlighted the achievements of the school. It was presented with a PowerPoint presentation. Students were awarded prizes for academics and co-curricular achievements. 

St Joseph’s 

Chandigarh: The primary wing of St Joseph’s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44-D, Chandigarh, put up a spectacular extravaganza — ‘The Whimsical Wonders’ — on the school premises. The programme began by seeking blessings of the Almighty. The ride on ‘Jungle Safari’ took the audience to the tribal world whereas a fascinating fusion depicted the rich culture of Haryana. 

Stepping Stones 

Chandigarh: Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School, Sector 37, and Stepping Stones International Wing, Sector 37, celebrated their 35th annual sports day. Races were held for all classes followed by the prize distribution ceremony. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Anu Kumar emphasised the need for integrating sports with academic curriculum for healthy development of a child. Stepping Stones Senior Secondary School branch in Sector 38 was also a part of the festivities.

NRI Public 

Dera Bassi: NRI Public School celebrated its annual function — UDAAN-2018 — with joy and fervour. Students presented various cultural items. School president Jaswant Singh Saini, Principal Kiran Singh and admininstrator Kulbhushan Mahajan applauded the efforts of students and teachers.

AKSIPS-45 

Chandigarh: AKSIPS 45 Smart School celebrated World Aids Day through a special assembly conducted by Class VIII students. Students were informed about the diseases, its origin, symptoms and cure. 

DAV School 

Panchkula: Team of counsellors from Footwear Design and Development Institute held a session on the school premises 

for the benefit of students of Class XI and XII. In the awareness session, students were briefed about the needs of the industry and how they should be focused on training themselves to bridge the skill gap.

Shri Kalgidhar Dashmesh 

Zirakpur: The school celebrated its annual function which began with the lighting of a lamp and welcome song. The programme started with ‘Ganesh Vandna’. Students performed gidha and bhangra. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks.

SMD Little Champ 

Panchkula: SMD Little Champ Smart School, Sector 2, Panchkula, organised its annual sports day on the school premises in which students of all classes participated enthusiastically. A number of events, including pick-and-run race, flat race, lemon-and-spoon race, and building of blocks, were conducted. All winners were given certificate of merit by School Principal Deepika. Director Naresh Gupta appreciated the efforts of teachers and students. TNS
