Kachwa to be first cashless Karnal village

Karnal: The administration today kickstarted a campaign to make Kachwa the first cashless village of the district. SDM Yogesh Kumar said, “We have decided to make Kachwa the first cashless village in the district. For the purpose, we are educating residents about the digital payment system.” The SDM said Axis Bank had been roped in to achieve the aim. Initially, the bank provided point-of-sale (PoS) devices to five traders free of cost. Bank accounts of each resident of the village would be opened and ATMs and debit cards issued to them, he said. The bank accounts would be linked to Aadhaar card, the SDM said. He added that four youths of the village were educating other villagers about the different aspects of cashless transactions. TNS
