Sirsa village tops in development

Sirsa’s village Gudiyakhera selected under the Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana by local MP Charanjit Singh Rori has emerged best among the selected villages in the state in terms of development.

The Sansad Adarsh Gram Yojana is a rural development programme focusing on social and cultural development of villages. The programme was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in October 2014. Under this, each MP needed to choose one village each from their constituency and make it a model village by 2016.

“Of the 82 development works taken up at Gudiyakhera, 36 have been completed, while work is under way on 17,” said Sharandeep Kaur Brar, Sirsa Additional Deputy Commissioner, while reviewing the development activities under the yojana.

In all, 15 villages have been taken up so far in Haryana – 10 by Lok Sabha members and five by Rajya Sabha MPs.

The villages selected under the yojana by the Lok Sabha members in Haryana are Tilpat by Faridabad MP Krishan Pal, Islamgarh by Deepender Hooda (Rohtak), Makhand by Dushyant Chautala (Hisar), Sanghan by Raj Kumar Saini (Kurukshetra), Mohidinpur by Ashwani Kumar (Karnal), Dongra Ahir by Dharamvir Singh (Bhiwani), Bolni by Rao Inderjit Singh (Gurgaon), Gudiyakhera by Charanjit Singh Rori (Sirsa), Datauli by Ramesh Kaushik (Sonipat) and Khadri by Rattan Lal Kataria (Ambala).

Rajya Sabha members Selja has selected Dheen, Ram Kumar Kashyap (Bhadsan), Birender Singh (Khatkad), Suresh Prabhu (Nidana Khas) and now retired MP Shadi Lal Batra had selected Anwal village.

“The progress of development works in Dheen (Ambala) is 38 per cent, Mohidinpur (Karnal) 17 per cent, Dongra Ahir (Mahendragarh) 15 per cent, Khatkad (Jind) 10 per cent, Islamgarh (Jhajjar) 9 per cent, Datoli (Sonipat) 9 per cent, Khadri (Yamunanagar) 8 per cent, Khadsan (Karnal) 8 per cent, Makhand (Jind) 8 per cent, Sanghan (Kaithal) 4 per cent, Bolni (Rewari) 3 per cent and Tilpat (Faridabad) 3 per cent,” said Brar.

The ADC directed the officials of various government departments to speed up their projects.

She asked the officials of the Irrigation Department to find solution to the problem of waterlogging in the village. She also asked Civil Surgeon Dr Suraj Bhan Kamboj to get a survey conducted for malaria and dengue in the village.
