The Uttarakhand Parivartan Party (UPP) started its second phase of ‘Parivartan yatra’ yesterday with an aim to educate people about the need to defeat the Congress and the BJP in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

The second phase of the yatra was headed by Suresh Nautiyal, central vice-president of the party.

Nautiyal said widespread enthusiasm was witnessed among common people during the first phase of the yatra. He hoped that people would support the second phase also.

He said the Congress and the BJP had failed to come true to the hopes and aspirations of the people for the past 15 years. Both these parties had looted the precious resources of the state for their own motives.

Nautiyal said during the second phase, party leaders would hold meetings and street plays in Dehradun and Haridwar districts. The Uttarakhand Parivartan Party would show its strong presence in the forthcoming Assembly elections. He regretted that the state government had filed cases against Uttarakhand Parivartan Party workers for opposing the Nainisar land deal and demanded these should be revoked.
