PANIPAT: The police have arrested three members of a theft gang involved in 26 cases of robbery.

Panipat, November 15

The police have arrested three members of a theft gang involved in 26 cases of robbery. A car, two bikes, an activa, five LCDs, five inverters and six batteries have been recovered from them. The accused have been identified as Nawab of Kairana in Uttar Pradesh, his son, Nazar Mohammad, and Sunny alias Gangia of Gangoh in Saharanpur district of UP.

Addressing a press conference here today, Sub-Inspector Praveen Kumar said that Nawab of Kairana in Shamli district of UP and Neeraj alias Baba of Dolra in Muzaffar Nagar were arrested on November 4. They were sent into seven-day police remand

during which they disclosed their accomplices, which included Nawab’s son, Nazar Mohammad, Mohsin of Bijnaur, Nawab alias Bangali of Sector 25 and Satbir alias Pawwa of Karnal district. The SI said they were planning to loot commuters at Risalu village.

While Nazar and Sunny have been sent into judicial custody, Nawab was remanded to one-day police custody by a local court.
