A delegation of BJP leaders, including Union Home Minister JP Nadda and all four Lok Sabha MPs from Himachal, today submitted a memorandum to Home Minister Rajnath Singh, seeking dismissal of the Virbhadra government in view of the deteriorating law and order situation and a CBI probe into the matter.

The rape and murder of the 16-year-old Kotkhai girl also echoed in Parliament as Hamirpur MP Anurag Thakur raised the issue during zero hour in the Lok Sabha.

The BJP delegation comprising Nadda, former CM and Kangra MP Shanta Kumar, Shimla MP Virender Kashyap, Mandi MP Ram Swaroop, Anurag Thakur and state BJP president Satpal Singh Satti met Rajnath Singh to seek his intervention in the case.

They demanded that the manner in which the rape and murder case had been handled by the police, a big question mark had been put on their functioning. “Neither the family, nor people expect an impartial probe and justice for the victim so we demand that the Congress government must be dismissed,” they demanded. They sought the intervention of the Centre to dismiss the government for its failure to maintain law and order.

They also drew the attention of the Home Minister to the mysterious death of one of the accused while in police custody in Kotkhai police station.  They also made mention of the firing outside the police station to control the mob.
