Bhojnagar Road in need of repairs

The Bhojnagar-Kamli road connecting Parwanoo with the Kumarhatti-Nahan highway is in bad shape. Despite the National Highways Authority of India sanctioning funds for its upgrade and repair, the PWD failed to carry out the work. It is appalling to see that the state government has never cared to repair the road and now when the Central authority has given funds, it is not using the money. — Manish Sharma, Parwanoo

Leaking sewer pipe near Victory tunnel a nuisance

Leaking sewer pipes are a bane of the state. One such pipe near the Victory Tunnel on Cart Road has become a nuisance for pedestrians as not only does the entire place smell, but splash from vehicles sullies the clothes of pedestrians. The road is used by a lot of schoolchildren and office-goers. It is high time the authorities plugged such leakages, which could be a cause for outbreak of diseases. — Niranjana Kaushik, Shimla
