Training in basic life support held

JALANDHAR:In order to the train officials of the district administration to give primary emergency health care to needy people, the Indian Medical Organisation (IMA) on Thursday organised a workshop on Basic Life Support under the ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ for them.

In order to the train officials of the district administration to give primary emergency health care to needy people, the Indian Medical Organisation (IMA) on Thursday organised a workshop on Basic Life Support under the ‘Tandarust Punjab Mission’ for them.

During the workshop organised by the IMA at the District Administrative Complex, doctors including IMA President Mukesh Gupta, Raman Chawla, Balraj

Gupta among others apprised officials of the steps to be taken in case of any emergency in terms of cardiac arrest or other medical exigencies.

They said such basic life support given to patients within five minutes of an attack, could prove to be a boon for the patient. During the training, the doctors apprised the

officials of the techniques through which basic life support could be given to any patient in case of an emergency.

They said under the “Tandarust Punjab” Mission of the state government, the IMA would extend all possible help to make the state the healthiest state.

Deputy Commissioner Jalandhar Varinder Kumar Sharma said this would go a long way in enabling the people to deal with any sort of crisis in their personal life or during the public. He said such steps was need of the hour to make more and more people aware of the issues concerned with their health.

Prominent among others present on the occasion, included Additional Deputy Commissioners Jasbir Singh and Amrit Singh, sub-divisional magistrate Rajiv Verma, secretary RTA Varinder Pal Singh Bajwa, Assistant Commissioner Dr BS Dhillon, executive magistrate Dr. Jai Inder Singh, District Revenue Officer PS Sahota, District Social Welfare Officer VS Tiwana, civil surgeon Dr Jaspreet Kaur Sekhon, district Immunisation officer Dr Tarsem Singh, district guidance counsellor Surjit Lal, Director RUDSET Jagdish Kumar, among others.

The workshop focuses on providing primary emergency health care to the needy. This sort of training would go a long way in enabling the people to deal with any sort of crisis in their personal life or in the public. It will make more and more people aware of the issues concerned with their health.
