LUDHIANA: Tagore Public School organised a paper reading competition for students of Class VI to IX to hone reading skills of students. Students were judged on the parameters of pronunciation, expression and content. Principal Manju Kansal congratulated the winners.

25 schools participate in shabad contest

Guru Nanak Public School, Sarabha Nagar, hosted the Baba Gurmukh Singh inter-school shabad gyan competition in the memory of Baba Gurmukh Singh, founder, Guru Nanak Public School. 25 schools participated in it. GNPS hosts the competition every year to imbibe guru’s teachings among students. Participants recited shabads from Sri Guru Granth Sahib to express their reverence and devotion to God. BCM School, Chandigarh Road bagged first prize. Amrit Indo Canadian Academy and BCM Arya Model Senior Secondary School stood second and third, respectively.

Puppet show entertains students

GMT Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, oraganised a puppet show, based on Lord Krishna’s childhood, for students of Class III. Principal Jasbir Kaur Bal said students children related the show to their lives. 

Founder’s Barsi Observed 

Staff members and students of Sant Ishar Singh Ji Memorial Public School, Karamsar, Rara Sahib, paid obeisance at gurudwara Karamsar to obseve the 44th barsi of Sant Ishar Singh Ji Maharaj. Students recited Gurbani to pay their respects. Students also recited poems and shabads.

98 delegates take part in mock MUN

Peace Public School hosted a Model United Nations, in which 98 delegates from 18 schools of the Ludhiana Sahodaya Schools Complex (West) participated. Students deliberated on the issues of South China sea conflict and military use of drones. The winners of best delegations in first committee were Amrit Indo Canadian Academy, followed by Jatindera Greenfield and Atam Devi Niketan. The winners of best delegations in second committee were Atam Devi Niketan, followed by Sacred Heart School and Jatindera Greenfield. 

200 felicitated at award ceremony

Kundan Vidya Mandir, Civil Lines, conducted its excellence award ceremony. Around 200 students of Class X and XII, who had scored 90 per cent and above, were also felicitated with certificates, books and cash prizes for their excellent board results. The school choir left the audience mesmerised with their voice. TNS
