Students hail Sindhu’s win

Ludhiana: Staff and students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, hailed PV Sindhu for clinching gold at the BWF World Championship final.



Ludhiana: Staff and students of Green Land Senior Secondary Public School, Jalandhar Bypass, hailed PV Sindhu for clinching gold at the BWF World Championship final. The chairman-cum-director of the school, Rajesh Rudhra and principal Baldeep Pandher advised students to get inspired by her as having such role models in life would attain them success.

60 showcase calligraphy skills 

SNAS Arya Senior Secondary School, Mandi Gobindgarh, organised an inter-house English , Punjabi and Hindi calligraphy competition with the aim to improve presentation skills of students and inculcate in them the habit of good handwriting. Around 60 students of Class VI to XII participated. Principal Usha Sharma said handwriting reflected the personality of a person and such competitions taught students about unique structures and beauty of languages. 

Ved Prachar Saptah celebrations

DAV Public School, BRS Nagar, organised a Ved Prachar Saptah under the guidance of Arya Ratan, president of DAVCAE, New Delhi, and Arya Pratinidhi Upsabha, Punjab, on its campus. The week-long celebrations started with a havan. A paper reading contest on ‘Beti Bachao Beti Padhao’ and ‘Say no to plastic’ was also conducted.

state title for Springdale’s choir 

The choir of Spring Dale Public School has won first position in the national-level group song competition, organised by the Bhartiya Vikas Parishad, India. Schools from across the state participated in the competition. The team was awarded trophy and certificates. 

DCM bag zonal cricket trophy

Students of DCM Presidency have shown tremendous achievement in the field of cricket and badminton at zonal level. The U-14 boys cricket team emerged winners in the zonal cricket tournament . DCM beat Darshan Academy by 10 wickets. In badminton, the U-17 boys bagged third position. Vishal Verma was selected for the district zonal level.

model-making activity

Students of Class VII and VIII of BCM School, Chandigarh Road, participated in the British Council model-making activity. The inquisitive minds prepared electric circuits to show that every type of plastic is a poor conductor of electricity. Students were asked to work in groups to learn team spirit. 

tribute paid to Jaitley

BVM, Kitchlu Nagar, paid tributes to Arun Jaitley. A documentary on him was shown to students to motivate them to be responsible and hard-working with clarity of thoughts and outstanding visions.

Students become radio jockeys

With the objective to boost confidence, creativity and presentation skills of its students, BCM School ,Chandigarh Road, organised a radio jockey talk show for Class XI and XII. Students spoke on burning social issues, their causes and the role of youth in finding out their solutions. They imitated eminent personalities and discussed the issues. Principal DP Guleria praised the students for their hard work and creativity. TNS
