Two held with stolen bikes

LUDHIANA: The city police have arrested two youth and recovered three stolen vehicles from their possession.

Ludhiana, June 21

The city police have arrested two youth and recovered three stolen vehicles from their possession. The accused have been identified as Atma Ram, alias Bhola, a resident of Partap Nagar, and Gagandeep Singh, a resident of Guru Nanak Colony.

The SHO, police Division No. 7, Satwant Singh, said the police had laid a routine naka on the Tajpur road. He said on suspicion two youths riding a bullet motor cycle were signalled to stop for checking at the naka. However, instead of paying heed to the signal, the bike-borne youths accelerated their vehicle, he added. The police party chased the youths and nabbed them near GNE College, said the SHO.

The duo failed to produce documents of Bullet motorcycle (bearing registration No. PB10BR3094), when the police asked them to do so. During preliminary questioning, both admitted that they had stolen the bike recently.

Their further questioning led to the recovery of a stolen motorcycle and Activa scooter. — TNS
