Jaya critical: Karnataka suspends bus services to TN

CHENNAI: The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) temporarily stopped bus services to Tamil Nadu on Monday following an incident of stone pelting near Tiruvannamalai.

The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) temporarily stopped bus services to Tamil Nadu on Monday following an incident of stone pelting near Tiruvannamalai.

As Chief Minister Jayalalithaa remains critical after a cardiac arrest, supports thronged the streets of Chennai, prompting traffic police to block roads leading to Apollo Hospitals, where she is currently admitted.

There was heavy police deployment outside the hospital. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) was on high alert after news of the chief minister’s cardiac arrest spread on Sunday night.

Security has been heightened across the city, while transport department has cut down the number of inter-city buses on Monday night.

Apollo Hospitals has issued a statement saying the leader was critical. — ANI
