Jeweller shot at in Tarn Taran, robber held

TARN TARAN: Three armed robbers barged into a jewellery shop in Gali Sarafan Wali on Thursday and shot at the owner.

Three armed robbers barged into a jewellery shop in Gali Sarafan Wali on Thursday and shot at the owner.

One of the robbers, identified as Jaswant Singh Jassa of Mohalla Noordi, was nabbed by the jeweller’s son and employees.

The victim, Raj Kumar (50), has been admitted to Guru Nanak Dev Super Specialty Hospital.

Deputy Superintendant of Police (DSP) Sucha Singh said a case under Sections 394 and 34 of the IPC and Sections 25, 54 and 59 of the Arms Act had been registered against the culprits.

The DSP said the other two robbers had been recognised and raids were being conducted at their possible hideouts to nab them. —OC
