Sixteen km from the gleaming glass towers of Doha, one of the richest places on the planet, sits the "Industrial Area" of small-scale workshops, factories and low-cost accommodation. The 16-seater eaterie stands on the prosaically named Street 23, sandwiched between another restaurant and a steel workshop. PTI

Human chain marks 100th week of Bagmati campaign 

Kathmandu: Over one lakh people, including Prime Minister Sushil Koirala, formed a 56 km human chain here to mark the 100th week of the clean Bagmati campaign, aimed at creating awareness on keeping the historic river clean. The event was aimed at creating awareness among the people on keeping the historic river clean by not dumping waste and sewage that flow near the Pashupatinath Temple, according to the organisers. International Hindi Centre to be set up in US 

New York: With a view to promote Hindi as a world language, plans are underway to establish a 'Hindi Centre' near here that will serve as an academic and cultural hub and facilitate exchange programmes between Indian and American universities. A resolution to set up the Hindi centre was adopted unanimously by the delegates at the three-day conference. PTI
