BEIJING: Two people were killed and seven others remain trapped after an explosion rocked a factory in east China’s Jiangsu Province early on Saturday morning, officials said.

Two people were killed and seven others remain trapped after an explosion rocked a factory in east China’s Jiangsu Province early on Saturday morning, officials said.

The explosion occurred at a workshop of a biotech company in the industrial park for chemical enterprises in Guannan County, according to the county’s publicity office.

A fire caused by the blast has been extinguished.

Rescue work is under way, state run Xinhua news agency reported. PTI
