Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori, who is also the Chairman of the Improvement Trust, Barnala, today said carrying forward the pro-development agenda of the Punjab Government, several development projects for the overall development and beautification of the city would be started by the Improvement Trust soon.
Ghanshyam Thori informed that a proposal for spending an amount of around Rs 1.5 crore on the repair and strengthening of roads and for beautification of Barnala has been prepared.
“Roads falling in development schemes of Improvement Trust Barnala such as 18.23 acre scheme, 25 acre scheme and 22 acre scheme would be repaired and strengthened and an amount of Rs 70 lakh would be spent for this purpose. Besides, interlocking tiles would be installed on roads connecting small sized plots and an amount of around Rs 10 lakh would be spent for this purpose,” the DC said.
Thori also informed that a Garbage Collection Centre would be set up to manage solid waste in Bus Stand, Barnala. He said that roads around and near the Bus Stand Barnala would be repaired and an amount of Rs 30 lakh would be spent.
“We would also spend the remaining amount also on the development,” said the Deputy Commissioner.
