Chandigarh, March 30
An 18-year-old youth was allegedly stabbed to death by his elder brother following an argument over a mobile phone at Sector 26 today.
The victim, Abhishek, had taken Aman’s mobile phone and was not returning it to him, which led to heated arguments among the duo after which Aman allegedly stabbed his younger brother.
The incident took place at a ground near their house in Bapu Dham Colony. The victim has been identified as Abhishek. The police said the victim and his elder brother Aman (19) had an argument following which Aman allegedly stabbed him. “Abhishek had taken Aman’s mobile phone and was not returning it to him, which led to heated arguments among the duo after which Aman allegedly stabbed his younger brother,” said a police official.
The police were informed and the victim rushed to a hospital where he was declared brought dead. The body has been shifted to a mortuary. The autopsy will be conducted tomorrow.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim was stabbed on the chest and back.
The police said the victim worked as a mechanic at a motor market, while his brother was unemployed. Aman was nabbed by the police and a case of murder registered at the Sector 26 police station.
