Chandigarh, April 19

Residents reeled under severe heat conditions as the city recorded the second highest temperature of the season today. The day temperature reached 40.5°C, six degrees above normal. On April 11, the city had recorded a maximum temperature of 40.7°C, the highest so far this year. Also, the minimum temperature rose to 23.3°C, four degrees above normal.

There is a forecast of light rain in the city on Wednesday and Thursday.
