Karate meet: Kanika, Ujjwal clinch gold

CHANDIGARH:Kanika topped the podium in the girls’ U-50kg category during the Chandigarh Senior State Karate Championship, which concluded here on Sunday.

Kanika topped the podium in the girls’ U-50kg category during the Chandigarh Senior State Karate Championship, which concluded here on Sunday. Anu finished second.

In the girls’ U-55kg category, Priyanka Chandel won the gold, while Kamalpreet claimed the silver medal. 

Krishna and Nurbir Kaur claimed the top-two positions, respectively, in the girls’ U-60kg competition.

Ujjwal, meanwhile, won the gold medal in the boys’ U-50kg category. He was followed by Amit in second place. 

Amar and Sumit Kumar claimed the top-two positions, respectively, in the boys’ U-55kg category, while Uzwal topped the podium in the U-60kg competition. Rahul won the silver and Amit returned with the bronze medal.
