LS polls: 12 file nominations on first day

NEW DELHI: On the first day of filing nomination papers for the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi 12 candidates, including 10 from unrecognised parties, filed their papers today for the parliamentary polls in Delhi slated to happen on May 12.

On the first day of filing nomination papers for the seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi 12 candidates, including 10 from unrecognised parties, filed their papers today for the parliamentary polls in Delhi slated to happen on May 12.

City's election authorities said it received 12 nominations with none from any national or state party on the first day. Two independent candidates also filed their nomination papers.

Of the 12 nominations, three each were received for East Delhi and New Delhi seats, two each for West Delhi and Chandni Chowk and one each for South Delhi and the North East Delhi constituencies.

The last date for filing nominations is April 23 and scrutiny would be on April 24, while the deadline for withdrawal of nominations is April 26. — TNS
