Ban sale of tea gardens

The state government should impose a ban on the sale of tea gardens in Kangra. If the gardens are sold, concrete jungles will be developed, affecting the clean and green environment of the valley. Tea gardens are situated at the foothills of snow-clad Dhauladhar ranges and attract thousands of tourists every year as it gives a unique scenic view. The government should not grant permission for the sale of these tea gardens at any cost. There are several politicians and middlemen making efforts   to get permission from the  government for the sale of tea land. Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur should not come under pressure and turn down such proposals. Besides, most tea lands fall in the category of sealing and such lands cannot be sold at any cost.

Obstructing traffic

On Sunday night, a truck overturned near Vikasnagar and damaged two vehicles parked below the main road. The police reached the spot and initiated the proceedings. However, the truck was not removed from the site and cranes were on the spot till evening, obstructing the road. If the police and the administration had removed the truck before the rush hours, commuters could be saved from inconvenience.

Road to hospital in bad shape

The road connecting the Civil Hospital, Sarkaghat, with the main road needs repairs. Due to the negligence of the authorities, it has become difficult for locals to reach the hospital. I had appealed to the local MLA in February 2018 to construct an alternative road, but nothing happened. There is a need to widen the road.
