Body parts recovered from accident site in Kinnaur

Rescue teams have recovered some body parts from near Pangi Nala in Kinnaur, where a car met with an accident on February 4 and fell into river Sutlej.

Three people, including the driver, were travelling in the vehicle. The two passengers were from Tamil Nadu. While one passenger, Gopinath, was rescued and admitted to the hospital, the other passenger is missing. The driver died and his body was recovered.

As per Kinnaur Deputy Commissioner Amit Kumar, the body parts have been sent to forensic lab in Junga. The DC said two family members of the missing person reached Kinnaur last night to look for the missing person. “A joint operation is being conducted by NDRF team, rescue teams of police and home guards. Besides, assistance has also been sought from the Navy,” said Amit Kumar.
